We get asked all the time what the options are for curtain headings and the pros and cons for each...Here are some of our most popular heading options...
Pinch Pleats.
Pinch pleats are one of our most popular heading choices - they create a beautiful traditional look and can be made with single, double or triple pinches. Pinch pleats require slightly more fabric than Pencil pleats but do stack back nice and neatly.
Pencil Pleats.
Pencil pleats create a more relaxed look and feel. They are made using a heading tape which is pulled up to make pleats which look similar to pencils lined up next to each other hence the name. Pencil pleat headed curtains are a great option if you want to keep the cost down as they require slightly less fabric than Pinch pleats.
Cottage Top.
Similar to Pencil Pleats in that the heading is created with a heading tape, cottage top curtains have a really pretty frill of fabric above the heading tape. As the name suggests they are perfect for creating a lovely cottagey, relaxed feel in any room.
Goblet.
Goblet pleats are a much more decorative formal heading - they are made with buckram in the heading and look like champagne flutes. This heading is best suited to larger windows with space either side as Goblet headed curtains tend to take up more space when drawn.
